Review #4 is a review of a movie where the canoe and all that it epitomized to nineteenth and twentieth century English adventurers would be impossible without it. So this is a story of the man whose name became synonymous with the canoe.

Grey Owl

From a purely paddling perspective this is the best movie to date. The stroke mechanics by Brosman are a joy to watch. He demonstrates a wonderful J- Stroke followed by a sweep. Nice stuff. Some of the paddling footage is the best I have seen and was watching closely at the end for Carey’s credit to show. Sorry Carey I missed it.

My kids left the room and refused to watch this movie, as there was too much violence against animals in the first part. Because of this they missed the change from trapper (Animal Killer) to conservationist as the movie progressed.

Not one of my favorite movies to watch but I sure love the paddling scenes unlike some of the movies in this series.
